How to maintain your stuff in a SOHO environment without the fuzz of AWX

I am very untalented when it comes to setting up Linux based Kubernetes environments when the only thing I want to achieve is a regular update of my home servers.

Linux and other servers in a Home or Small Office Environment need regular patches. This is a tedious manual task which can be automated by using Ansible, AWX, Tower and other solutions. AWX for automating small tasks is complex and setup does not work without solid & enhanced Kubernetes skills. Out of five attempts, I could only set up a working environment once. As an experienced IT person (my stack is 80% Windows, 20% Linux), that raised an eyebrow and a question with me: "why do you even have to set up a full Kubernetes environment for a light-weight updating tool?". Yes I know, Ansible and AWX can be so much more, my use case is and was still "please run regular updates on my 7 to 10 Linux Home Servers, and alert me or show a red line if that failed [extra bonus: please store my credentials locally and in a way that is safer than text files]". That is, what my next project is about - and if you ask yourself - how does serious software and games work together? In the one thingy I learn interesting stuuf for the other one ;-) So if you have the same trouble, stay tuned on this channel!
